Butterflies for first day back at the track. Scrutineer line long and always makes you a bit anxious. Will they pick on the Guzzi. “ Where’s the chain mate” oh I haven’t heard that one before.

Mario is back!

Lots of brake problems yesterday. Some light engineering work overnight and we will see how the day goes. Binding from brake costing 3 sec a lap. #motoguzzi #daytona #guzzi #bears #bott

All did not go well on the second day of racing with continued brake problems. We called it a day and Mario is back in the shed for some love. Kits for these brakes are unobtanium so careful rebuilding is required. Now getting prepared for Australian Historic Titles at Wakefield in November. #Moto Guzzi #Guzziracer

This is me with my second Guzzi in 1988. Lemans 4 with 16 inch front wheel. What were they thinking? #moto_guzzi

Took my 1969 Ambo out to get the papers this morning. What a sweet ride. #motoguzzi #Guzziracer

My 3rd Guzzi, purchased in 1991. Must admit I never like the original LeMans as much as the Mk11 although I don’t think many people will agree with me. #motoguzzi #Guzziracer

Forza Guzzi !!

At Wakefield park practice for historic nationals next month. Still having brake issues but mostly concerned with gearing for this track. I have installed the close ratio gearbox with the short top gear. I have 2 diff’s. 7:33 & 8:33 running 8:33 now and it’s working OK. #Guzziracer #motoguzzi

Bike is sorted. Off the the Historic Nationals. I’ll probably come last but who gives a shit. I’m having the time of my life.

Sharing the love. At home on the farm with the legendary Teo Lamers. Looking at his collection of Moto Guzzi Galletto’s. A functional motorcycle and a work of art. #motoguzzi #guzziracer #bestdayever

A big thrill for me last year was to visit the Guzzi factory museum each day. On this particular day I was fortunate to visit as a guest with Guzzi royalty. Pictured is Teo Lamers (owned the largest Guzzi dealership in the world), Giuseppe Todero ( son of the designer of the V8 Guzzi) and Alfio Micheli ( Guzzi factory test rider ). Not everyone gets to sit on the exhibits. The bike Alfio is on happens to be a Dr John inspired 4valve Daytona factory racer. The sand cast crank case is stamped “003”. #motoguzzi #guzziracer #bestdayever

This Guzzi was built by Teo Lamers and ridden by Alfio Micheli in European endurance racing. It was donated to the factory by Teo. Alfio is probably the only guy on the planet who is allowed to sit on the exhibits in the Guzzi museum. Alfio is a lovely man who speaks no English which we both find very frustrating. His passion for Guzzi is immense. He still lives in Mandello near the factory. #bestdayever #guzziracer #moto_guzzi
